Le Gardenz has recorded a Total Recordable Injury Frequency Rate (TRIFR) of 1.1 for the 12-month period ending 31 May 2026 - the lowest in the company's history and a result that positions us among the top-performing contractors in the Australian infrastructure sector.
Context and Significance
The infrastructure services industry recorded an average TRIFR of 6.4 for the same period. A TRIFR of 1.1 across more than 600,000 hours worked - including significant FIFO and remote operations - reflects a genuine shift in safety culture, not just improved reporting practice.
What Drove the Improvement
- -Rollout of our Critical Risk Management framework across all project sites
- -Introduction of peer-led safety observation programs in place of supervisor-led audits
- -Revised FIFO fatigue management protocols introduced in late 2025
- -Leadership safety walks standardised across all five office regions
"A TRIFR of 1.1 is something to be proud of - but our goal remains zero harm," said GM HSEQ Rachel Burns. "Every number in that statistic represents a person who went home safely. That is what we are here for."
